Play Day at Mainx24 Pre/Post Parade - DEC 3

Warm up indoors before or after the parade as you Join us for an afternoon full of play as we romp around Battle Academy's gymnasium!

Activities will include:

• 18 foot slide,
• moonwalk,
• 38 foot obstacle course,
• Fencing Competition,
• putting green
• and other games.

Tickets will be sold and all rides and food will require tickets.

Food will include:

• Hot dogs,
• chips and dip,
• coke,
• cotton candy,
• and hot chocolate.

All profits will go to Battle Academy's Community Park.

Block party - Sept 26th

There will be a neighborhood block party in the Alley behind the 1700's on Cowart on Saturday night Sept 26th. Bring chairs, a side item to share, and something to toss on the grill. To coordinate side items, check back here (or one of the neighborhood mailing lists) for a form that you can submit your side item to. If there are too many of one thing -some one will contact those folks to sort it out.

National Night Out - Mark Your Calendar

We are the official kickoff for Neighborhood Watch for the entire city.

National Night Out Dog Contest

Pre-Sign up for the DOG CONTEST at the National Night Out - August 4th from 6pm to 9pm.
Send Dog's name, owner's name and street name to pups@sscowart.com. Include the contest you wish to enter the dog into; Cutest, Ugliest, or Friendliest.

Day of Event sign up will be near the Neighborhood Association table.
To win votes for you dog, you must campaign for it. Introduce them to neighbors, have them do small tricks for small crowds, etc.
Voting will last until 8:30 that evening.
There will be a PUP Walk at 8:30 while votes are being counted.
At 8:45, winners will be announced.

Voting slips will be available at or near the Neighborhood Association table. Each person will receive 3 tabs. This will allow for one vote in each category.

Please bring waste bags for the dogs. Water will be provided.

Committee members will be visiting local businesses to find sponsors for the Aug 4 National Night Out hosted by the neighborhood. We are going to be the kick off for the city so the Mayor will be speaking at our event. We are seeking sponsors primarily within the Southside. Please sponsor an event, a door prize or provide general sponsorship to the neighborhood
