Meeting Minutes from October 11, 2012

A. Heidi Hefferlin, President called the meeting to order at October 11 2012 at 6:00PM at Set In Stone.
B. Membership – Reminder to pay dues.
C. Meeting Minutes from July 12,  2012 were approved by unanimous member vote.

Traffic Calming - A new traffic study will be performed looking at speed, volume and truck traffic. If this study does not result in the approval of addition of traffic calming to the target streets, association will pursue additional options.

Clean & Green - we had 50 plus signups and participation of groups from Jeffernson Heights and UTC- Participants collected data on unsecured vacant buildings, tagging, and unsafe sidewalks. Data will be used to pursue corrective actions. Photograph taken and sent with location address and issue as subject  to  photos@sscowart.com


Main x 24 - 
Pocket Park Update.  Planting of tree and grasses will be centered around MainX24 with volunteer planters.  There will be two opportunities to participate, a morning session and an afternoon. There will be hot chocolate and hot dogs available for participants.
We need donation for sidewalks and stairway hardscape.  Bases for benches will be build by Set in Stone ($300/per bench) with tops build by the WoodWorking Academy from donated lumber.  We've received donations in kind and in cash.  

Corn Hole Toss Event will be hosted again at Chucks. This year will be more relaxed and not a tournament. 

Neighborhood services grant options were discussed. Cynthia will used submit application. 

The Neighborhood block party was described by Teal. All are invited to attend.

Progress On Trip Hazard Project

Since our last meeting of the Southside Cowart Neighborhood Association in October, some progress is noteworthy.  Our gratitude to Dennis Malone and Tony Madewell of City of Chattanooga Public Works Department and our Councilman, Manny Rico for their assistance in making the current level of progress and continuing support for remaining work on our neighborhood sidewalks.
